Site Closure Notice: Please note that Ford’s Theatre is temporarily closed to the public while the National Park Service conducts scheduled maintenance work within the theater.
Visitors are still welcome to explore other areas of the Ford’s Theatre campus during this time. The Petersen House, where President Abraham Lincoln died on April 15, 1865, remains open, as does the Aftermath Exhibits, which examine the events following Lincoln’s assassination and their lasting impact on the nation.
Be sure to visit our newest exhibition, 1776, The Musical – An Exhibit, open and on view starting the second week of June. This special exhibition explores the history, cultural impact, and enduring legacy of the groundbreaking and award-winning musical.
We look forward to welcoming visitors to these experiences while work is underway in the theater. Please check our calendar below for the latest updates and operating hours.
