As many parents and teachers know, middle schoolers often question if what they’re learning in class will ever apply to real life. Oratory Fellow Darrin Comstock explains a visit his students shared with former Congressman Hal Daub. Read how their meeting encouraged the students to consider the importance of effective public speaking.
On Monday, May 8 at 4 p.m., twenty-two students (representing Connecticut, Kansas, Maryland, Missouri, Nebraska, Pennsylvania and Washington, D.C.) will perform historical and original speeches, learned and created as part of their classroom’s participation in the Ford’s Theatre National Oratory Fellows Program. Four National Oratory Fellows will perform original speeches. The event is free. Tickets are required.
