Video: Watch a Trailer for “Freedom’s Song: Abraham Lincoln and the Civil War”

In the following video trailer, catch a glimpse of why critics are calling Freedom’s Song: Abraham Lincoln and the Civil War “visually stunning” (Theatre Bloom) with an “exuberant cast” (Washington Post).

Performances run through May 20, 2015 at our historic Ford’s Theatre, as part of our Ford’s 150 commemorations. This epic musical packs a lot into its 90-minute run time, depicting the hopes and sorrows that the entire country, both the North and South, experienced during the Civil War. The 17-member ensemble sings music inspired by real letters sent during war, while also weaving together Lincoln’s words as the spoken text of the show. These elements, infused with musical genres like gospel, pop/rock and country, give Freedom’s Song both a sweeping and intimate perspective. Find more info here.
