Peek Backstage With Tiny Tim

Here at Ford’s Theatre, our 2015 holiday season truly began on November 3, when our young cast of A Christmas Carol first met to rehearse the show. Our production of A Christmas Carol requires six young actors to play a variety of roles, including urchins, schoolchildren and members of the Cratchit family. We cast a total of 12 talented young actors, who rotate in the roles for each performance.

Harrison Wright, who plays one of our Tiny Tims this year, spent part of first rehearsal showing the ropes to Jovani Morales-Shackelford, another child actor who plays the role. Jovani and Harrison alternate performances of A Christmas Carol, with each performing 30 times during the production run. Since this is Harrison’s third year playing Tiny Tim, he excitedly welcomed Jovani to the show and introduced him to many familiar faces in the Ford’s Theatre cast.

We invite you, too, to get the “Harrison tour” of what it’s like to be part of A Christmas Carol. Join him backstage as he races to his big entrance. Along the way, see if you can spot his co-stars Lauren Du Pree, Stephen F. Schmidt, Michael Bunce, other members of the young cast and Edward Gero—our Scrooge!

We invite you to join us here at Ford’s for the holiday season—whether seeing A Christmas Carol featuring Harrison or Jovani, or on a daytime tour of our historic site. And until you join us next—happy holidays from all of us!
