Ford’s Theatre is a member of the League of Resident Theatres (LORT) and hires all actors on an Actors’ Equity Association (AEA) contract. Actors are hired on a production-by-production basis. Audition dates and locations are announced seasonally. Ford’s Theatre primarily casts actors based in the Washington, DC/Baltimore area.

• Ford's Theatre holds auditions locally and in New York City. Unless otherwise noted, Equity Membership Candidates (EMC) and Non-Equity actors are seen only when no Equity Member is auditioning or waiting to audition at open auditions. At open auditions, EMCs will be seen before Non-Equity auditioners.

• Ford’s Theatre’s staff annually attends the Washington, DC/Baltimore AEA Liaison Committee general auditions and when possible, other local general auditions and showcases.

• Actors are welcome to send invitations to readings or productions to our mailing address. Please note that we receive numerous invitations and endeavor to attend whenever possible.
