FORD’S THEATRE SOCIETY ANNOUNCES OPEN CHILDREN AUDITIONS FOR A CHRISTMAS CAROL

Children Ages Five to 13 Encouraged to Attend

Washington, D.C. – The Ford’s Theatre Society announced that auditions for children’s roles in the company’s production of A Christmas Carol will be held Saturday, September 19, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Church of the Epiphany (1317 G Street NW, Washington, D.C.). Interested children between the ages of five and 13 are encouraged to sign up for a timeslot on-site beginning at 9:30 a.m. Children should prepare a Christmas song and short poem or story and bring with them a photo and résumé.

Production rehearsal and performance dates for A Christmas Carol are October 20, 2009-January 3, 2010. Rehearsals will be held after school (3 p.m.-8 p.m.) on weekdays, and all day (10 a.m.-6 p.m.) on Saturdays and Sundays. Mondays and Thanksgiving are normal days off. Technical rehearsals begin November 12 and the span of day shifts from noon-10 p.m. or noon-11:30 p.m. (times subject to change).

Those with conflicts during the show rehearsal and performance period should not attend the open auditions on September 19. Families will be notified via phone if their child is requested for a call back. Those with questions should email auditions@fords.org. No phone calls.
