FORD’S THEATRE SOCIETY PARTNERS WITH MARTHA’S TABLE ON DONATION DRIVE THROUGH PERFORMANCES OF "A CHRISTMAS CAROL"

Washington, D.C.—The Ford’s Theatre Society announced that the cast of the 2012 production of A Christmas Carol is partnering with Martha’s Table to create a donation drive inspired by the themes of charity in Dickens’s holiday classic. During the curtain calls for performances of A Christmas Carol, the cast will collect monetary donations on behalf of the Washington-based non-profit Martha’s Table. Patrons can also make donations through the Ford’s Theatre Box Office.

TWENTY TEACHERS PARTICIPATE IN SECOND CIVIL WAR WASHINGTON TEACHER FELLOWS SESSION JULY 8-13, 2012

Washington, D.C. – Twenty teachers from 14 states participate in the Catherine B. Reynolds Civil War Washington Teacher Fellows Institute, July 8 through 13, in Washington, D.C. During the week-long program, teachers will visit Ford’s Theatre, the Frederick Douglass National Historic Site, Tudor Place Historic House and Garden and President Lincoln’s Cottage; take part in an array of virtual tours and performances; develop tactics to hone students’ oratory skills and plan content-driven experiential learning adventures for students.
